Abby is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) in the State of Texas, under the supervision of Jennifer Smith, LPC Supervisor. Abby has had a heart for walking through life with others for as long as she can remember. She understands the value in relationships and enjoys cultivating deep and trusting relationships with her clients in order to provide space for healing to happen.
Outside of providing support to her clients, she enjoys reading, doing puzzles, drinking tea, traveling, and spending time with her family. Abby would choose a rainy day over any other type of weather, but also (begrudgingly) recognizes the value of sunshine for both our physical and mental health. When it isn't raining, she really does enjoy being outdoors fishing, going for walks, and enjoying nature.
Abby has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Christian Studies from Dallas Baptist University. After obtaining her Bachelors degree, Abby took time to gain different experiences through working as a caseworker for CPS, serving elementary students with special needs, and working at a Christian based call center offering prayer and guidance to those who were struggling and in need of immediate support. She also served with the YES Waiver Program, working with adolescents struggling with serious mental health concerns, and their families, in an effort to keep them in the home and out of the hospital setting. All of these experiences have uniquely equipped Abby to serve a variety of clients from any walk of life.
In 2023 Abby graduated with her Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Abby is passionate about meeting her clients where they are and providing a safe and confidential space where no topic is off limits and growth can occur. She works from a Person Centered approach, and seeks to collaborate with clients regarding their goals and perspectives. Abby is trained to work from a model that builds on the foundation of clients' strengths and looks at the deeper needs we all possess in our lives. She is also trained in Grief Counseling.
