Emotional or cognitive difficulties can cast a shadow over one's overall well-being, often leaving individuals unsure of their causes or the type of help they need. Some may find themselves at a dead end in their search for answers, having invested valuable time and money in therapy, counseling, or medications that proved ineffective. These experiences can be frustrating and overwhelming, but there is hope. A powerful avenue to uncover the needed answers is through a formal assessment performed by an experienced psychologist.
A psychological evaluation offers a unique ability to provide in-depth insights into various aspects of an individual's mental health. It presents the results of psychological testing along with a straightforward explanation of these results, delving into the root causes of symptoms, providing relevant diagnoses, and recommending the most appropriate treatment options. This process is crucial for those seeking clarity on issues impacting school, work, relationships, mood, socializing, substance abuse, or even gaining a deeper understanding of their personality for career and relationship decisions.
At 246 Counseling, we provide a comprehensive diagnostic psychological assessment that evaluates cognitive, emotional, and personality functioning. In addition, we offer specific evaluations tailored for children, adolescents, and adults, including assessments for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, personality styles, mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as psychosis and dissociative disorders. *At the moment, IQ and learning disability testing is not available.*
The assessment process at 246 Counseling is designed to be thorough and personalized, ensuring that individuals receive the specific information they need. While the process and cost may vary based on individual needs, a typical psychological evaluation follows a two- to three-session schedule:
The total cost of psychological testing and assessment is $500. The cost of the initial session is $200; if after the initial session, testing is deemed appropriate, the other $300 will be due. This will include all testing/assessments, as well as the third and final feedback session. While we do not file with insurance companies for testing and assessments, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for any reimbursement they may offer.
At 246 Counseling, our team of expert evaluators is committed to providing thorough and insightful analyses to help individuals navigate the complexities of psychological testing and assessment. We understand that the assessment process may seem daunting, and we encourage individuals to reach out with any questions or concerns. By unlocking the answers through comprehensive testing and assessment, individuals can take proactive steps towards improving their overall well-being.
At this time, all testing is conducted by Dr. Melissa James, PsyD, LPC. Please reach out today for a brief consultation to determine if testing is the right course of action for you, or to get started!
